The VWNC Luncheon on Nov. 2 featured guest speaker Katy Rose, Clinical Director of Human Nature Counselling Services in Victoria. Their counselling approach focuses on using the natural world as part of the healing process. Therapy takes place outdoors using nature as their co-therapists. Nature-based Therapy is a form of experiential therapy incorporating our relationship with the natural world into counselling interventions to enhance personal growth and development.
Rose’s practice was launched in Victoria in 2011 and has continue to grow over the years, expanding the counselling team to 20 and providing services to 600 families. It is a registered charity and as a non-profit, it offers an income-based sliding scale for clients who do not have access to extended health benefit coverage, or other funding sources.
